About Us
Our Goal is to sponsor under privileged children in Nnewi and provide opportunities for them to excel in their career paths
Nyelu Educational Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty through education. We focus on supporting disadvantaged children by providing school supplies, sponsorship, and seeking partnership with local businesses and community groups to provide opportunities to enable children achieve their highest potential
The foundation is a tribute to the legacy of Sir Nnanyelu Akamelu & Lady Chinyelu Akamelu. Their passion for learning and quality education, to become resourceful and successful, has inspired the creation of this foundation.
The foundation’s operation will be in Nnewi Nigeria and in the UK. Nnewi is a vibrant and industrious city located in Anambra State, southeastern Nigeria. Renowned for its entrepreneurial spirit and innovation, Nnewi has earned the nickname “The Japan of Africa” due to its strong manufacturing base, particularly in automobile and motorcycle parts.

Our Aim
To sponsor children in primary and secondary schools in Nnewi, especially those from underprivileged and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, to access quality education.
To identify individual children’s skills and work in partnership with local businesses, community leaders, and philanthropists to provide opportunities for children to train and excel in their chosen career paths.
This proposes to bridge gaps in education by providing both formal learning paths, rooted in the cultural values of Nnewi, that equip the youth with the skills needed for both local and global opportunities.

- Localized Educational Focus: Deep understanding of Nnewi’s cultural and economic context, offering educational sponsorship that align with local industry demands (e.g., automotive manufacturing, engineering, and trade skills).
